Hello,
With over 30 years of experience in early childhood education, I am passionate about supporting the educators and leaders who make high-quality programs possible. I offer in-person trainings, live virtual sessions, and self-paced online courses designed to help teachers strengthen their skills and deepen their understanding of child development and effective classroom practices.
In addition to training, I work with program leaders and teaching teams through coaching and consultation to strengthen classroom practices, support staff development, and address real challenges programs face every day. My goal is to provide practical strategies that help teachers feel more confident, help leaders build strong teams, and create environments where young children and the adults who care for them can thrive.
Whether you are an individual educator looking to grow professionally or a program leader seeking support for your team, I’m here to help you take the next step forward.

My Journey in Early Childhood Education
I am thrilled to share that I have been working in the field of early education for over 30 years! I started as an aide at an early childhood program serving homeless families in 1989. I then worked in an infant classroom while I completed my Associate of Arts Degree. I continued to work in center-based care as a Lead Teacher with all ages before taking my first administrative role in 2000. From 2003-2006 I worked for NAEYC as an Assessor, where I had the opportunity to visit hundreds of programs seeking Accreditation throughout the United States. In 2006 I took a position at Head Start where I completed my BA in Metropolitan State University's Urban Teacher Program. In 2012 while completing my MA in Early Childhood at Concordia University, I opened my first early childhood program in Saint Paul. From 2012-2020 we licensed 7 different locations, mainly in churches. When Covid hit in 2020, we had 4 centers operating and made the decision to downsize to just our Maplewood location. Over the next couple of years we closed our Inver Grove Heights location and transferred our 2 Saint Paul locations to new owners. In 2023 our daughter Ashley Kapp took over our last center and I left the day-to-day operations to focus on training early childhood providers through in-person training events, live web-based sessions, on-demand courses.
Other experiences in the field include being a CLASS observer, an ECIPs Revision Committee Member, a MNAEYC Board Member, a Head Start Grant Reviewer, a Parent Aware Coach Observer, a Mentor Trainer and Center for Inclusive Child Care Coach. In 2018 I completed the MN Relationship Based Professional Development Credential. I am currently approved by the Minnesota Center for Professional Development as a Course Writer and Expert Trainer.
In November 2024, with my husband Keith, we opened CRAFT & More Thrift Store in West Saint Paul. CRAFT stands for Creating Resources And Funding for Teachers and our mission is to generate funds from our thrift store to support early childhood teacher training and classroom initiatives.
